The Amati Conservatory, a unique classical music school, trains young musicians with the goal of attaining highest achievement. Students at Amati are required to practice daily, take lessons and perform at the level of young professionals. Amati Conservatory students have won top prizes in competitions and have performed as soloists with orchestras and in recitals. Many have gone to further their studies at some of the finest conservatories in the country and abroad. One of the goals of the founders of this school was to bring the finest musical instruction to students in northern New Jersey who in the past had to travel long distances, often out of state, in order to pursue quality classical music training. The school has realized this objective by recruiting faculty of the highest caliber with the best credentials in their fields. The school's teachers are world class artists who have strong backgrounds as graduates from the leading music schools of the world. Some of our faculty members have been top prize winners of international competitions; others have enjoyed international performing careers; all share a passion for teaching and making music. Ideally located in the small town of Tenafly in northern New Jersey, Amati Conservatory students get the benefit of a beautiful community location and proximity to the rich cultural life of New York City. In many occasions, the school has organized trips to hear great concert artists in performance. The Amati Conservatory offers individual lessons in piano, violin, viola, cello. Most students receive two lessons a week, thus obtaining careful guidance and maintaining weekly goals of achievement. These lessons are complemented by opportunities to perform in numerous performance classes and school concerts. When students attain a proficient level, they are scheduled to perform at school performances in New Jersey or professionally arranged concerts in New York City. Students at the Amati Conservatory participate in regular performance classes, both as performers and as members of the audience. Being a small private music school that emphasizes individual attention to all of its students, the school's faculty is able to nurture and guide each student regardless of age or level. The school accepts students of varied levels from young beginner to advanced.
