Grades & Examinations
At the end of each semester, each student receives a report card that includes grades and teachers' comments on all subjects. At the end of the academic year, a student must take a jury, or final examination, on major and/or secondary instrument performance.

Attendance
Regular and punctual attendance is expected at all individual lessons, classes, performance classes, mandatory rehearsals, and concerts. Students are asked to avoid any conflicts to their assigned schedule. Teachers are not required to make up lessons to accommodate personal or family travel of students. Unexcused absences affect a student's final grade.

Parent Attendance
In the case of very young students, parents can be of great help for their child's progress. They are normally asked to attend lessons. In the case of older students (age 8 and up), they need to develop a rapport with the teacher, so parents are not advised to attend their children's lessons unless requested by teacher. They are encouraged come at the end of lesson to consult with teacher regarding the lesson. Parents are always welcome to performance classes and concerts.

Refund Policy
If it is necessary for a student to withdraw from the Amati Conservatory after tuition has been paid, the school retains 20 percent of the tuition charges for each week or part thereof, up until the fourth week of classes. After the fourth week of classes, there are no refunds. Student must notify the school in writing of their intention to withdraw.

Make-up lessons
Lessons missed due to illness are made up provided 24 hours notice is given to the teacher.
No more than one lesson a quarter will be made up for reasons of absence other than illness.
Lesson missed due to a teacher's absence will be made up by the teacher.
All make-up lessons must be taken care of before the end of the semester. No make-up lesson will be carried over to the next semester.

Accompanist Policy
School provides a professional piano accompanist for string players in lessons, performance classes, dress rehearsals and concerts. Piano accompaniment is available in lessons regularly (see current academic calendar for specific dates of lessons with piano). Students are asked to prepare well in order to get the most out of these opportunities to play with piano accompaniment. If for any reason a student misses a lesson that was to be with piano accompaniment, the accompaniment will not be rescheduled. Extra rehearsals can be arranged upon accompanist's availability at an extra cost. (see separate sheet for current charges).
